DATA CENTERS

Strategically located in Virginia, California, Texas, Washington, Georgia, and Kanses, our data centers are positioned on the East Coast, West Coast and in the Central United States. With multiple locations, we can offer you excellent opportunities for reliable service, minimal latency, disaster recovery, and geographic diversity. Each facility has been engineered from the ground up to provide powerful carrier connections and ensure that we meet our 99.9% uptime guarantee.

Locations: Chicago (NEW), New York (NEW), California, Kanses, Northern Virginia, Georgia, and Washington.

NEW! New York, New York

Being the most popular non-central hosting location in the industry, having a stable, yet high performance NYC network is crucial. We meet those expectations by utilizing the most well regarded tier 1's in the business; AT&T, Level3, Savvis, and Sprint.

NEW! Chicago, Illinois

Transit services at our Chicago IL presence are provided by Server Central. Server Central continues to maintain the most heavily connected infrastructure in the greater Chicago metroplex. Sporting a diverse network of Level3, MCI, Global Crossing and Savvis along with a huge list of private peers - there is simply no better home for Chicago based game servers.

Kanses City, Kanses

5 electrical rooms supply power to the 5 server rooms in the data center. These electrical rooms contain the battery supported Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) to keep the servers running during an utility outage. In such a case the Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) in each of these rooms start the generators which will then feed the UPS and cooling systems with power until the utility supply gets established again. Even our fail-safes have fail-safes. Backup generators, multiple hard drives, dual routers, cooling systems and gel battery power banks give us real redundancy so our fleet of high-end servers will continue to operate regardless of external conditions. In the event the grid is down, five huge 16-cylinder diesel generators supply constant, reliable power for all systems.

Seattle, Washington

Our Seattle facilities meet and exceed seismic zone four standards—the highest of any data center in Puget Sound. From seismically braced cabinets to emergency wells that can supply water to our cooling towers to 100 tons of N+1 redundant UPS cooling systems, we address any and all threats.

San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio is known for the absence of natural disasters and is on the most seismically stable soil in the US. This bigger and better data center is approximately 12,000 square feet of raised floor space with an adjoining 6,000 square feet of office space. It is connected to the world class and ever-expanding Peer1 Network. It is fed by dual OC-48 uplinks to the Peer 1 Network with fully redundant network and power systems. This data center supports over 2,000 servers currently with the capacity for over 7,500. In addition, it will be the location for testing and deployment of new product lines and services.

Herndon, Virginia

Our South Pointe data center located in northern Virginia. This facility has been built out to meet Peer 1 Network's high standards of redundancy and security. Fed by dual OC-48 uplinks to the Peer 1 network with fully redundant network and power systems, this datacenter is designed to meet the needs of East Coast and European customers.

Los Angeles, California

Connected to the world-class, high performance PEER 1 Internet network by dual OC-48 uplinks it has fully redundant network connections and power systems. Our West Coast facility boasts a location one block from One Wilshire in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.

Atlanta, Georgia

Our Atlanta facility is equipped with multiple power generators on a redundant grid with two separate feeds into the building. This, and redundant internet connections provides our customers with the best possible uptime for your server. Our facility provides uninterrupted network access, multiple connectivity options, multiple network carriers, and diverse network routes to ensure that your atlanta voice server is always online.

Data Center Features

Regulated Climate Control

The data centers' HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) systems are N+1 redundant. With full particle filtering and humidity control, the storage temperatures are maintained at a cool 68 degrees to ensure an ideal performance environment for your server.

Power Systems

Our datacenters are not reliant upon the local power grid to guarantee maximum uptime. Our on-site, auto-switched power generators and centralized UPS systems provide power conditioning and ensure uninterrupted data center operation. Additionally, the generators are regularly tested to ensure that they will continue to function in the event of an emergency

Datacenter Security

Our data centers are physically isolated from everyone but level three technicians. Public access is strictly forbidden. Access to the datacenter is restricted and the facility is completely locked down.

NETWORK

The Peer1 Network is fully redundant, uses redundant fiber entry points and connects only with Tier I upstream providers such as at&t, Savvis, Sprint and MCI. We guarantee 99.9% uptime.

Redundant High Bandwidth Connectivity

Dual OC-48 uplinks connect us to the world-class Peer 1 network with fully redundant power and network systems.

Bandwidth Utilization

It is a common misconception that the amounts of bandwidth (size of the pipes that carry the data) differentiate web hosting companies. In reality it is not only the size of the pipes that matters, it is the utilization levels. The utilization of our Internet connections is vital to a network's ability to transfer data without packet loss or latency. We aim to keep all connection usage below 50% to avoid any connectivity problems.

Dynamic Routing

Our datacenters runs the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP4) for best case routing. The BGP4 protocol is a standard that allows for the routing of packets of information sent out from our network. Each packet of information is evaluated and sent over the best route possible. Because of our redundant network architecture, packets may be sent via alternative routes even if they are being delivered to the same end user. Should one of our providers fail, packets leaving our network are automatically redirected through another route via a different provider.

Network Security

Our network is a fully switched network. Traffic destined for a website hosted on a server is sent only through switching equipment necessary to deliver the information to that server. This minimizes the risk of someone sniffing or capturing traffic being sent across the network.
